Mission Project: Support

I grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, and then spent four years as a young adult at the University of Missouri in Columbia. I’ve now walked away from Mizzou with a Bachelor’s in Broadcast Journalism, reporting and producing skills, and a desire to use those skills to share the gospel. While I studied and dreamt about pursuing a career in TV news, the Holy Spirit had other plans. I had a five-year plan of where I saw myself after college. I thought that I’d be a producer at a local news station in Chicago, but as I grew in my relationship with Christ, a new desire emerged: a desire to serve God’s kingdom. I felt the nudge toward ministry when I was sitting in my dorm room during the last semester of my senior year, trying to figure out my next steps. TV news didn’t feel right anymore, and I knew the Lord had placed this new desire on my heart for a reason. I came across TWR’s mission, and I instantly felt that it embodied what God calls us to do. Shortly after, I received direction from the Holy Spirit to pursue a role with this mission organization. Although I resisted and experienced much anxiety about abandoning what I knew, he provided me with much comfort and confirmation. To honor God’s direction for my life, I am building a team of ministry partners to serve with TWR as the Radio Marketing Partnership Liaison. In this role, I will work to build friendships and partnerships with radio stations across the U.S. while fundraising for the sake of the gospel. I am also someone who loves fellowship and community, which is why you can almost always find me at my home church. Event or no event, I’m volunteering for anything, especially for the youth ministry. I remember how much my Sunday School teachers and camp counselors poured into me as a child and I hope to do the same with the little ones we have now. When I’m not helping to plan lock-ins or searching for Bible storytime activities, I’m either exercising or doing some other hobby that I find interesting. Yes! I am a fitness fanatic! I truly believe that the body is a temple, and we should take care of it, and exercise is a great way to do that. I have been weightlifting for about four years, and now I’m trying to implement more cardio to keep my heart pumping and blood flowing! Another way to keep that temple in great shape is with a great diet. So, I’ve been learning how to cook and have been experimenting with healthier meal options and flavors. I also have been learning how to do hair and nails. I’m no professional, but I’m learning how to try new styles on my head and my sisters’ heads. I have two little sisters; one is amazing at hair, while the other hates getting her hair done. The one who loves doing hair is 20, and the other is eight years old. I know you notice the HUGE age gap, but despite that, we are all very close. I’m honestly very close with all my family; we love to spend time with each other doing activities or trying new foods. We all love to rollerblade and bike ride, so when it’s warm outside, expect to see us on the trails. We really enjoy being with each other and are very close-knit despite what we’ve been through. I give glory to God for that—without him in our lives, I don’t know where we’d be. So, I just want to honor him with all that I do.
